Who We Are

Who are we and how did we get here

We are a small group of around 20-30 people who come regularly to Flint to worship God and to fellowship with each other.  We come from all walks of life and are called by God for a service to him.  We love the study of the scripture, the inspired Word of God.  Most have come from different groups of the Churches of God, first started by the late Herbert Armstrong.  We are drawn to this group by the simplicity and goodness of the people here.  We share thoughts, prayers, happiness, and sorrows with our brethren.

 Our Pastor Jerry Hubbard

Jerry Hubbard has served us faithfully as our Pastor for a number of years.  He has been in the Church of God for many years and is well versed in scripture.  Jerry is a humble man who is approachable by all.  A gifted speaker and piano player who keeps our group well oiled.  He has been drafted by God to serve his people, and he does it well with a wiry sense of humor.  Jerry takes his commission from God seriously, by serving God and our small flock.  He will pray for you, anoint you with oil for illness and comfort you, so please feel free to approach him.

Our vision and commission of God

We have been put here by a calling from God to spread His Word and His Truth.  We are a dedicated group of people who enjoy the life that God has chosen for us.  God is the Father of us all.  His Son Jesus Christ is our brother and master.  We strive to be like Him in all that we do.  We love life, God's instruction, and want to learn truth.  God has given us His Bible for instruction in how we are to behave, what to eat, to learn history, to gain wisdom, and to be prepared for the future by prophecy.

    Our Beliefs

  • We believe in the true God who is our Father.
  • We believe in Jesus Christ who died for us to pay for our sins.  He rose from death, ascended to God, and sits at His right hand.
  • Jesus Christ is the Word of the Old Testament.  He created the heavens and the earth.  He created Adam and Eve and we all descended from them.  Christ is in control, but has let the world have the freedom of choice on how to rule.  It is obvious looking at history, that man cannot rule man without the Spirit of God.  Jesus Christ will come to this earth soon, at his second coming, to rescue us from our own destruction.  Those who "keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ", will rule with Christ at his second coming (Revelation 12:17).
  • We believe the Holy Spirit emanates from God.  He gives us His Spirit, to help us in life’s struggles, to inspire us, to stay close to Him and to understand scripture.
  • We believe in the Ten Commandants and the keeping of God's commandants- to follow them as best as we can.
  • We believe in the Holy Days of God (not the traditional holidays), which are found in the Old Testament.  Jesus Christ and his disciples kept them as found in the New Testament and are commanded to be kept throughout all generations.
  • Honoring the Holy Days are memorials of God's eternal plan which culminates in Christ returning as King of kings, the great white throne judgment day, and eventually a new heaven and earth with a new Jerusalem city coming down from heaven.
  • We are a Sabbath group who keeps and meets on Saturday, the last day of the week.  We are to rest from all our work and busy schedule to worship God.
  • We believe we should repent, be Baptized under water for the remission of our sins, and then laying on of hands to receive God’s Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that we are children of God and heirs with Christ to inherit all things.
